Hello!
So you bought a printable invitation and you want to print it and send it. You can perfectly use a standard envelope or you can go further and create an awesome Halloween envelope with bat wings. The latter will make your invitation look amazing!
In this tutorial you will find the template for the bat winged envelope that will hold a 5″x 7″ invite. It is super easy and will wow your guests when they receive it.
MATERIALS
- The bat winged envelope template – printed
- Black cardboard
- Pencil or white color
- Scissors
- A red ribbon (or any color you want) – aprox 15″.
- Scoring board (optional)
- A 5″ x 7″ invitation (check out these cute Halloween invitations at my shop)
STEPS
1. Print the template and cut along the outer border.
2. Trace the template on to the black cardboard. Since the most commercial used paper size to print is letter (8.5″ x 11″) and the size of the envelope is bigger than the paper, you will have to trace the template in 2 steps: first trace it all except the side that doesn’t have a wing, then flip it vertically so you can trace the other side with the wing.
3. Cut, score and fold the envelope along each wing. (If you don’t have a scoring board, you can fold it manually).
4. Paste the invitation in the center of the envelope.
5. Wrap the envelope with the ribbon and make a nice bow.
6. Cut the tails of the bow so that they look the same size.
7. Wow your guests!
I hope you like this tutorial and show me your embellished your invitations.
